Abstract The present experimental study aims to examine the combustion and emission characteristics of a single cylinder four stroke direct injection diesel engine operated in dual fuel mode using dairy scum oil methyl ester (DiSOME) its blend (B20)—producer gas combination with without addition hydrogen. DiSOME/B20-producer hydrogen exhibited inferior performance increased hydrocarbon carbon monoxide emissions owing poor physic-chemical properties both biodiesel inducted low calorific value (producer gas) compared same Producer was along air, allowed mix air-producer intake manifold. Experimental investigations were conducted at all load conditions constant flow rate (8 lpm). It noticed that B20-hydrogen enriched producer optimum parameters resulted amplified thermal efficiency reduced levels operation B20/DiSOME-producer combination. However, investigation showed diesel-producer provided brake by 3.8%, 16.4% 13.2% diesel/DiSOME/B20—producer combinations, respectively, 80% load.
